The CMiC Executive Team

Gord Rawlins, President, joined CMiC in June, 1986 as the Product Manager responsible for construction solutions. In 1989, he took on the responsibility of Team Lead, managing the design, development and release of CMiC’s first Oracle-based Construction Management software solution. During his early years at CMiC Gord personally implemented over two hundred construction management systems at various construction companies throughout North America.  Gord became President in September, 2002, and since that time his leadership and technical expertise has been instrumental in guiding CMiC into a new era of product development and profitability.  Gord holds a B.A. in English from York University, and a B.Ed. in Accounting and Computer Science from the University of Toronto.
 
Jeff Weiss, Vice President, Sales & Business Development, is responsible for leading the sales team, handling channel sales and international development. With over 20 years of experience in the computer software industry, his leadership and direction of the sales and business development team has led to CMiC’s successful partnerships with many of North America’s leading construction companies. His vision is to expand CMiC into every project based marketplace, leveraging our knowledge of project management using our enterprise project and financial management software. Jeff joined CMiC in 1991 as a senior system consultant. He was promoted to Director of International Business in 1993, then Vice President in 1995. Jeff holds an MBA and an MS in Engineering.  
 

Bassem Hamdy, Vice President Solutions and Marketing, is responsible for synchronizing and coordinating the product and marketing activities for CMiC's three product lines. His role encompasses fulfilling product design and ensuring that CMiC is responsive to the product needs of its customers and meets industry demands. He has led the implementation of CMiC software for leading construction firms in North America. With CMiC for a decade, Bassem’s experience in construction and technology has enabled CMiC to continue to be the most innovative and robust solution for the construction industry. He has a Bachelor of Commerce from McMaster University and brings exceptional leadership, analytical skills and technological expertise to his unique role.

 

Pat Shah, CFO, is responsible for CMiC finances, corporate governance, technology licensing, contracts and human resources.  Prior to joining CMiC, Pat was Chief Financial Officer for Poraver North America Limited from 2005 to 2008. During that time, he implemented financial systems and procedures, built a finance team to support domestic sales and manufacturing and handled corporate governance and audit committee matters.  From 1990 to 2005, Pat held numerous positions at Ernst & Young, and in 2001, as Vice President in the Corporate Finance group he developed a practice focused on Building and Construction Products providing a range of transaction advisory services including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and financings.  Pat holds a CA and a CBV designation and he has an Honors Bachelor of Arts from the University of Waterloo.

Larry Phillips, CTO, oversees all software development at CMiC. Larry’s group develops software applications, provides programming support for delivered applications, performs research into new technologies to enhance future development efforts, performs quality assurance during the software development process, provides product documentation, and manages and maintains the internal CMiC computer network.  His continuing missions are to maintain and evolve CMiC’s state-of-the-art development infrastructure, while keeping pace with the company’s dynamic growth, and to provide the best turnkey system integration solutions to CMiC’s customers.  Larry joined CMiC in 1984, serving in various technical, development and R & D positions.  He was promoted to Director of Emerging Technology in 1999 and is now the Chief Technology Officer.
